WEW are delighted Kathleen Turner was named best actress at yesterday’s Evening Standard Awards.
She’s a favourite of ours, not least thanks to her fantastic performance in Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf which was one of the best things WEW have seen on stage this year and is sure to top our own awards which will be coming soon.
Now WEW can’t get to everything and haven’t seen Tom Stoppard’s Rock ‘n’ Roll which was named best play over our fave Frost/Nixon, but at least the latter took the editor’s award which sounds good to us.
Sunday In The Park With George deservedly took best design. Caroline Or Change got best musical which the Whingers will be visiting soon. We promise to let you know as soon as possible whether or not they got it right.
