Well, actually, not. Not here. The West End Whingers are boycotting the Royal Court.
Our last few visits there have been turned out to be evenings which really only took off once we had snuck out in the interval and retired to a bar. On one occasion we were even denied that escape route.
Then came the letter asking if we knew what a play was which was the final straw really.
Let’s just call it artistic differences and leave it at that.
So you won’t be able to find out what we thought about The Wonderful World of Dissocia at the Royal Court other than by reading John Morrison’s review which pretty much sums up what we would almost certainly have thought if we had taken the trouble to go – “I didn’t find the play accessible, dramatic, amusing or gripping,” he writes. Mind you, the Royal Court may well think that’s a good thing. Who can tell?

Anyway, we’re thrilled to think that we may no longer actually need to sit through plays in order to review them and we believe Mr Morrison shows great promise – a whinger in the wings perhaps. And that’s a good thing.

Ah, shame. Would have loved to hear what you chaps had to say about this one! I did not dislike it nearly as much as I expected to, but still there was plenty of whinge-fodder there.
