The theatrical event of the whinging year

Saturday 21 April 2007

InvitationWell, it’s all go at the Whingers’ respective headquarters in Kentish Town and Vauxhall as preparations for tonight’s party go into overdrive.  Moods are rather fractious as it’s 10.15am and in deference to their duties this evening neither Phil nor Andrew has had a drink all day.

Andrew – having produced the invitations, organised the guest list, managed the team of decorators and liaised with the venue – is putting the final touches to the musical playlist. Phil has bought the Blu Tack.
Meanwhile Fin Kennedy, bless him, has marshaled the theatrical blogosphere, possibly in the naive hope that there is safety in numbers, or perhaps in the hope of gaining Brownie Points which he can redeem against a future Whingers review of one of his plays.

We shall see.

(note to Phil – playlist nearly finished, but wondering if Bette Davis singing I’ve Written a Letter to Daddy is going too far. What do you think? – Andrew)

  1. Oh how I wish my visit to London was a week later. Thanks for the invite. Here’s hoping the party is one whinging success!

  2. Hope you had fun – sorry I couldn’t get along.

  3. Thanks guys. From what we can remember it was indeed both fun and a whinging success.
