Hairspray casting rumour

The Whingers hear that the lead Hairspray role – the pleasantly plump or chunky Tracy Turnblad- has been filled.

Despite (or possibly as a direct result of) the best efforts of the Whingers to secure her the role, it would appear that Little Shop of Horrors‘ Katie Kerr (left) will sadly not be doing The Bug when Hairspray opens at the Shaftestbury Theatre on 11th October.

Our commiserations to Kerr and a word in her shell-like: unlike you, Leanne is very easy to find on the Internet and we do think that you should have a word with your agent whoever he/she is and introduce him/her to the World Wide Web.

So anyway, the honour of doing The Madison will go to newcomer Leanne Jones (right) against whom the Whingers have nothing at all.

She just hasn’t had the opportunity to pass the nodding – politely – at – Phil’s – ramblings – in – a – pub test yet.
