… be sure to listen to the conversation going on in front of you.
The Whingers bumped into some people from the Leicester Square TKTS booth in a bar (where else?) the other night and Andrew was boring them rigid about the time some Americans in front of him at TKTS were asking for tickets to see Diana Rigg in “Media”.
OK, so it was 15 years ago but he still laughs and remembers it as though it were yesterday (although actually he remembers very little about yesterday).
Anyway the TKTS-ers listened politely but after they had been plied with drinks, their tongues began to loosen and – unaware of the consequences – reported the following requests they have received for tickets:
- A Man for Two Seasons
- An Inspector Comes
- Chitty Chitty Gang Bang
- Guns and Dolls
- I Will Rock You
- Les MirrorBall
- Rally Round My Father
- Seven Brides for Seven Sisters
- The Glass Meringue
- The Dipsy Soprano
- The Rat Trap
- Whistle Up Your Wind
- The Witches of Ipswich
Actually, the Whingers would pay good money to see The Witches of Ipswich and Les MirrorBall.

Once worked in a (US) bookshop and got the following:
– Men are from Mars, Women are from Venice
– Watership Dawn
– On the Road Again (the sequel?)
– “That book about the guy who’s chasing around looking for something that has something to do with David and it’s got something to do with the bible being all wrong and it was made into a film that had Tom Cruise in it” (The Da Vinci Code – film adaptation of which starred Tom Hanks)
– “Can you tell me who wrote Dante’s Inferno”
– Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Apprentice
