The words “ABANDON HOPE ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE” are projected across the three sides of Es Devlin’s stylish box set for American Psycho with the words “ABANDON WHO” appearing alone together on one of the sections.

In Which The Whingers Reveal Doctor Who’s New Look…
Monday 5 January 2009After months of speculation, this weekend saw the unexpected announcement that Matt Smith is to take over from the David (back injury) Tennant* as the new Doctor Who.
Andrew (who famously doesn’t do telly) cares about such matters. But, despite being sure that Mr Smith will no doubt prove an excellent choice, the Whingers’ own casting department had been barking up all the wrong trees. Read the rest of this entry »
Review – That Face at the Duke of York’s Theatre
Sunday 18 May 2008The Whingers are feeling a tad existential today.
Not that they are quite sure what that means. But they are seeing their sad little world as even more devoid of reason and order than usual. Absurd, indeed.
Their relationship with the gods of West End theatre (the critics, producers, artistic directors and more recently Natasha Tripney’s Mother) has always been a bit iffy.
But today they acknowledge that – in the absence of a transcendent force – the Whingers are – as individuals – ultimately responsible for making sense of things.
And hence they are beginning to question – if not their very being – then at least their reason for being.
